72 Hours in Marrakech: A Perfect Weekend

Livia's choice

FRIDAY

Take our transfer to Gueliz and kick off your weekend with an aperitif on the terrace at Cafe de la Poste. This vibrant spot, adorned with palm trees, is the perfect setting for a glass of wine or margarita. During the winter months, cozy up by the roaring log fire on the top floor bar for an extra touch of warmth and ambiance.

Or, if you're seeking innovative cocktails, venture to Barometre. Nestled in this vibrant basement bar, expertly crafted cocktails await. In addition to the classics, indulge in a menu of cocktails that double as works of art, served in creatively ingenious ways.

Dinner at +61 is always a hit. It’s only been open for a few years but is already a firm fixture on the city’s dining scene. In a beautifully serene dining room, you’ll eat delicious modern Australian food with a Moroccan twist amidst the local creative set. Make sure you leave enough space for the ricotta panna cotta with espresso caramel. Delicious.

SATURDAY

It’s time to discover the souk. For first-time visitors, we recommend a guided tour to uncover the rich history of the medina and explore its hidden gems. From carpets to pottery, wickerwork to leather, the souk offers an array of treasures waiting to be discovered.

When it's time for lunch, head to Nomad for a lively terrace experience, or enjoy a light meal at Cafe des Epices or La Famille.

After a day of exploration, treat yourself to the ultimate relaxation with a traditional Moroccan hammam experience. The rejuvenating combination of cleansing, exfoliation, and massage will leave you feeling refreshed and revitalized.

Come back to the riad in the early evening and enjoy a drink on our rooftop with the stunning sunset before an evening of drinks, dinner and dancing at Le Comptoir, where the jewel-toned dining room sets the stage for live music and entertainment. Alternatively, dine with us before continuing the night at L’Epicurien, where a live house band ensures the party goes on until the early hours.

SUNDAY

Join Marrakech's design aficionados at the Bab Khemis flea market, where you'll find an eclectic array of treasures from vintage furniture to unique accessories. Afterwards, take a cab to the Yves Saint Laurent museum for lunch on the terrace, surrounded by the beauty of Majorelle Garden—an enchanting oasis of cacti and vibrant flora restored by Yves Saint Laurent in the 1980s. As the day draws to a close, return to the riad for a sunset drink on the rooftop, followed by a candlelit dinner in our terrace restaurant.
